Head of the Housatonic recap

Head of the Housatonic recap

SHELTON, Conn. - The Lesley University women's crew team raced at the Head of the Housatonic and the Novice 4 squad was able to grab a strong fifth place finish.  The next race the team will compete in will be the Head of the Charles Regatta, the world's largest two-day rowing event.

In Shelton, however, the Lynx were supposed to compete in the Lightweight 4, Novice 4, and Collegiate 8 (non-Division I) events but due to injuries the team was only able to compete in the Novice 4 race.

In the Novice 4, consisting of coxswain Danica Aldrich (Providence, R.I.), Isabel Arathoon (Guatemala City, Guatemala), Molly Burger (Sante Fe, N.M.), Jo Sorrentino (Chestertown, Md.), and Jillian Zingal (Huntington, N.Y.), the team finished in fifth place with a time of 21:22 on a beautiful day on the Housatonic River.

For several of the competitors, it was their first race of the season but each member raced strong and represented the Lynx with pride.
