Crew foursome finishes second at NECRL regatta

SOMERVILLE, Mass. - The Lesley University crew team raced against New England Crew League (NECRL) opponents at a regatta this past weekend on their home course, the Mystic River.  The women's varsity claimed second place after winning their heat over Endicott College to reach the finals.

The varsity squad was made up of coxswain Jillian Zingale (Huntington, N.Y.), Molly Burger (Sante Fe, N.M.), Isabel Arathoon (Guatemala City, Guatemala), Siobhan Pierce (Ayer, Mass.) and Kate Buckley (Glastonbury, Conn.).

The NECRL is comprised of six surrounding area schools including Roger Williams, Brandeis, Lesley and Endicott.

Following their victory over Endicott, the Lynx raced against Brandeis for first place but came away with second place honors.

Lesley will next race on April 26 on the Charles River.  If the Lynx place in that event, they earn a trip to the NECRL Championships on May 3.
