HOW IT HAPPENED (GM 1 vs. Bethany)

  • The Bison pushed four runs across in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back, taking advantage of a tough fielding effort by the Lynx who committed nine errors in the setback.
  • An RBI double to right in the second by Olivia Kidd made it 5-0 and then Bethany exploded for eight runs in the third to account for the 13-0 final with all but two of the runs being unearned.

  • Kidd led the way with a 3-for-4 outing at the plate, driving in three to go along with two runs scored.
  • Katelyn Ziems (2-0) notched the win in the circle scattering three hits over four scoreless innings of work, striking out four while Mya Parish worked the final frame to preserve the shutout.
  • Sophomore shortstop Isabella Moscoso, graduate student second baseman Jess O'Neill and first year outfielder Rori Allen all collected hits for Lesley.
  • Junior pitcher Madison Herbert (0-2) took the "L", working 4.0 innings and picking up three K's.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GM 2 vs. Elms)

  • The Lynx flashed some leather early as Herbert made a diving grab towards right-center to keep the Blazers scoreless in the top of the first. In the bottom of the frame, O'Neill blooped a single up the middle to drive in Lesley's first run of the day to put LU ahead, 1-0.
  • Junior outfielder Madalynn Biagi drove in her first collegiate run in the second on an RBI groundout to bump the Lynx advantage to 2-0 before they made it 3-0 in the third on an RBI single to left by Herbert.
  • The Blazers avoided a big inning in the third working out of a bases loaded jam and then answered with three runs on four hits in the top of the fourth to even the game at 3-3.
  • Lesley broke the tie with a four-run fourth to regain the lead at 7-3 as sophomore catcher Leah St. John and Herbert each collected RBI singles in the stanza.
  • Elms got one back in the fifth on an RBI triple down the right field line by Kyla Cook but the Lynx matched it in the sixth on a sac fly to deep left by St. John, driving in O'Neill who scored on the play all the way from second to account for the 8-4 final.
