New London, CT- The Mariners of Mitchell College take both ends of the conference doubleheader, 8-0 & 9-1, over the Lynx on Saturday. 

Inside Game 1:

• Mitchell jumped out to an early lead, scoring 2 in the second and 4 in the fourth to move the game to 6-0. 
• 2 more runs scored in teh fifth and sixth moved the game to its final of 8-0. 
• Samantha Mecklenburg took the complete game loss in the outing, striking out 2 over 5 innings. 
• Mahlia Medina collected the only hit of the game for the Lynx, going 1-3 in game 1. 

Inside Game 2:

• An Antonia Kieran single drove in the first run of the game for the Lynx, scoring Medina in the first inning. 
• Mitchell responded quickly, tying the game at 1 after 1. 
• 7 runs would then come across for the Mariners in the third and fourth inning, making the score 8-1. 
• A single in the sixth pushed the game to its final score of 9-1. 

Lynx Highlights:

• Shortstop Mahlia Medina went 2-6 on the day, scoring once. 
• Antonia Kieran tacked on another RBI for the season, raising the Grad Senior's total to 15 this year.
• Samantha Mecklenburg recorded complete game number 20 for her career with the Lynx. 
• Sophia Santos struck out 5 over 5 innings in the complete game loss in game 2. 

Up Next:

The Lynx (3-31, 0-9) will be on the road to take on the Judges of Brandies Thursday, April 27th. First pitch is set for 3pm of the doubleheader.
