Johnson, VT- Lesley splits the doubleheader with Johnson State College on a day that saw a total of 30 runs scored over the two games. The win is Lesley's third on the year.
Inside Game 1:
- Johnson State jumped out to an early lead in game 1, scoring 6 unanswered runs over the first two innings.
- An Emma Hodgkins double drove in Mahlia Medina and Tara Eldredge to make the game 6-2.
- Three more unearned runs came across in the sixth for Johnson State, making the score 9-2.
- The Lynx tried to battle back in the seventh, with a single from Antonia Kieran, sac fly from Jess O'Neill and a Holly Swinamer single to right to make the score 9-5.
- The game would end at that score, with Johnson State taking game 1.
Inside Game 2:
- Lesley flipped the script in game 2, putting up a first inning run on an Emma Hodgkins steal of home.
- A third inning double from Jess O'Neill drove in Antonia Kieran to move the Lynx to a 2-0 lead.
- In the bottom half Johson State would answer back, scoring three to make the score 3-2.
- From the fifth inning on it was all Lesley. RBIs from O'Neill (2), Swinamer (2), and Medina (3) moved the lead out to 9-3.
- The Lynx continued to add on, as an Eldredge double drove in one along with a Medina double to drive in two more.
- Medina would then score on a wild pitch to move the game to 13-3 in favor of the Lynx.
Lynx Highlights:
- Emma Hodgkins pitched a complete game from the circle in game 2, striking out 7 while only allowing 3 earned runs to go along with a 4-9 day at the plate, with a double and 3 runs scored.
- Mahlia Medina drove in 5 runs on the day while going 3-8 with 3 doubles and scoring 4 times.
- Antonia Kieran went 4-9, scoring 3 times on the day.
- Jess O'Neill went 3-8 on the day, driving in 4 runs to go along with 2 doubles.
- Mia Santilli went 3-7 with a double to go along with scoring twice.
- Tara Eldredge went 4-7 with a double, scoring three times.
The Lynx (3-25, 0-6) are back on the road Tuesday to take on Wheaton College. First pitch is set for 3pm for the doubleheader.
