Lions of ENC sweep conference doubleheader, 12-1 and 5-4, over the Lynx

Quincy, MA- The Lynx move to 0-6 in conference after taking a pair of losses on the road to NECC opponent ENC by scores of 12-1 and 5-4. 

 

Inside Game 1:

  • Lesley was able to take an early lead off the bat of Antonia Kieran, driving in Mahlia Medina to score the first run of the game. 
  • From there, the Lions were able to take over, scoring 5 in the bottom half of the third. 
  • Another 7 spot in the fourth inning that was capped off by a Olaveson sac fly moved the score to 12-1 in favor of ENC. 

 

Inside Game 2:

  • Again the Lynx were able to come out scoring early, as Mahlia Medina was able to score the first run on a steal of home to make it 1-0.
  • A third inning sacrifice fly from Antonia Kieran helped score Medina again to move it to 2-0. 
  • Emma Hodgkins singled to left field in the fifth, plating Medina again to make it 3-0. 
  • The Lions scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to make it 3-2. 
  • Medina drove across an insurance run in the top of the seventh to make the score 4-2, as Sydney Cole came across to score on the sacrifice fly. 
  • ENC fought back in the bottom half to walk-off by a final score of 5-4. 

 

Lynx Highlights:

  • Senior Mahlia Medina went 2-4 on the day with a pair of doubles and two stolen bases, scoring four times and driving in one.
  • Emma Hodgkins reached base 3 of her 7 plate appearances, including 2 hits and a RBI on the day along with the complete game in the circle. 
  • Holly Swinamer went 2-5 on the day at the plate. 
  • Jess O'Neill collected 2 hits on the day over her 6 at-bats. 

 

The Lynx (2-24, 0-6) are on the road tomorrow, April 16th to take on Johnson State College in a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 12pm.
