Arcadia No-Hits Lynx in First NCAA Regional Game

GAME OVERVIEW:

GLENSIDE, PA. – The Lesley Lynx Softball team were no-hit by the Arcadia University Knights in the first round of the Glenside NCAA DIII Softball Regional. Arcadia won 10-0 in five innings to move on to the winner's bracket, where they will play WPI. Lesley moves to the loser's bracket with the loss.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Lynx got one of their three baserunners on the day in the top of the first inning when Megan Murphy drew a walk. From there, Juliana Presto was flawless. She would later walk Tara Eldredge, but Presto recorded eleven of her twelve outs via strikeout. Brenna Dolan finished the game for the Knights, striking out two and walking one. It was Presto's 22nd win of the season as she combined for the no-hitter with Dolan.
  • Arcadia got six runs in the first inning, putting the Lynx out of it quickly. Serena Goodridge got things going with an RBI double and she added an RBI single in the second inning. Effie Jamanis had a run-scoring hit as well, while Allison LaRochelle drove in a run on a fielder's choice.
  • Madi Costigan was great out of the leadoff spot for the Knights, going 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Goodridge and Jamanis were both 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored, while Megan Sooy drove in a run and scored twice.
  • Samantha Mecklenburg took the loss for the Lynx, allowing four earned runs in 3.1 innings. Holly Swinamer threw for two outs and allowed three runs to Arcadia.
