For the first time in her career, junior Maria Nazzaro (North Reading, Mass.) has been named to the 2013 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-New England Third Team. It has been a season of accolades for Nazzaro, who was also named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) First Team All-Conference last week.

The centerfielder set career-highs in hits, total bases, at bats, batting average, and on-base percentage this year as she helped lead the Lynx to their fifth straight NECC title and third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championship.

Nazzaro hit at a .364 clip, compiled a .380 on-base percentage, swiped eight bases while playing a stellar centerfield, leading the team with nine outfield assists.

With Nazzaro's distinction, it marks the fourth consecutive year that a Lynx player has been honored by the NFCA.
