Mukai Named NECC Rookie of the Week

For the first time of her career, freshman Angela Mukai (Amherst, N.H.) has been named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week. Assistant Commissioner for Athletic Communications, Robb Modica, made the announcement in the weekly conference report.

Mukai, who has spent most of her time if left field, has been excellent in the clean-up spot in the lineup and caught on fire this week as she hit for a .526 average in six games. The freshman is second on the team with 22 RBI, tied for the team-lead with two home runs, and is in the midst of a career-high 12-game hit streak.
