The NCAA has announced that Lesley University leadoff hitter Emily Mangiaratti led all players in the nation in runs per game in 2011. The sophomore averaged 1.42 runs per game at the top of a lineup that took the Lynx to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2008.

"We’d like to congratulate Emily and your institution on this accomplishment," said an email from the NCAA Statistics Department.

Mangiaratti ranked in the top five in the New England Collegiate Conference with a .441 batting average and 15 stolen bases, leading the league with 47 runs in 33 games, good for a national-best 1.4242 runs per game.

The sophomore outfielder-designated player was named to a National Fastpitch Coaches Association all-star team for a second year in a row, being named All-New England Second Team after receiving Third Team honors in 2010.
