Jodi Fralick wins ECAC New England POTW award

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The Lesley University softball team came back from the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida with a 3-5 record, the best finish among all New England Collegiate Conference schools that went to spring training.  Leading the Lynx for the week was junior Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) who earned multiple weekly awards for her efforts.

Fralick won the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Player of the Week, New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week, and was named a Division III Softball - The Newsletter Regional Player of the Week.

Fralick finished spring training with a 0.538 batting average (14-for-26), seven runs batted in, four runs scored, and five stolen bases offensively.  Behind the plate, the catcher allowed just one passed ball in eight games and handled the pitching staff effectively. 

In two games against of Chatham University, Fralick went 9-for-10 with all seven of her RBIs as the Lynx dominated Chatham in mercy-rule victories. 

Fralick scored a run and recorded a hit in an impressive 4-3 victory over Albion College and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases in a 5-0 loss to Waynesburg University.

This is the first softball Player of the Week awarded handed out by the ECAC this season and the first in the inaugural season for the NECC.  The Lynx were selected as the preseason favorite to with the conference after winning the North Atlantic Conference title with a 30-12 record and an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament in 2008.
