CAMBRIDGE, MA – Lesley University managed to get only
three hits off of Mass. Maritime, however, they were able to
solicit fifteen walks en route to a 12-4 victory over the Bucs.
Amy Breen (Hobrook, MA) improved to 2-2 on the season with the
victory. Breen pitched five innings, giving up nine hits, four
runs, walking one and striking out two.
The Lynx were led offensively by Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, MA).
Cabral-Pini stole four bases, scored three times and drove in a run
in the win for the Lynx. Gianna Spaziante (Hawthorne, NY), Maureen
Mikos (Fairfield, CT) and Courtnie Leakeas (Lowell, MA) were
responsible for the three hits for the Lynx.
In game two, Sarah Wilson (Lowell, MA) drove in four runs for the
Lynx as they completed the sweep of Mass. Maritime Academy, winning
15-2.
Lesley used continued patience at the plate in the second game,
receiving nine walks, while having eight hits against the Bucs.
Wilson drove in four runs while going 2-4 at the plate including a
three run home run, her second of the Spring. Katie Bennett
(Bartlett, NH) continued to have a red hot bat as she went 3-3 in
the game, driving in two runs.
Christina Anzilotti (Pelham, NY) picked up her first win on the
season for the Lynx. Anzilotti pitched five innings, giving up one
earned run on six hits while striking out three and issuing zero
walks.
The Lynx are back in action as the host Lasell College in a
