FT. MYERS, FL – Lesley University managed to get only four
hits as Medaille College overpowered the Lynx and handed them an
8-0 loss. Lesley was coming fresh off an extra-innings thriller in
which they beat Wilmington College 4-3 and the Lynx seemed to be
drained against Medaille.
Medaille got two quick runs in the first and another one in the
second to take a 3-0 lead. Pitcher Amy Breen (Holbrook, MA) left
the game after an inning and two thirds giving on two earned runs.
Christina Anzilotti (Pelham, NY) came in and got out of the jam
that Breen had left behind in the bottom of the second. Behind
Anzilotti Lesley held Medaille scoreless through the forth before
Medaille’s bats got hot again. The game ended on a solo
homerun in the bottom of the eighth inning giving Medaille an 8-0
victory.
The Lynx were led offensively by Maureen Mikos (Fairfield, CT) who
went 2-3 at the plate. Lesley’s other two hits came from
Courtnie Leakeas (Lowell, MA) and Lisa Pina (Somerville, MA).
The Lynx have Tuesday off before they get back to action on
Wednesday against Transylvania University. For more information on
