THE LEAD—On Saturday, November 2, the Lesley University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 2024 NAC Cross Country Championships. The women's team finished sixth, and the men's squad came in ninth.
LESLEY HIGHLIGHTS
- On the women's side, the Lynx as a whole finished with 142 points, but senior runner Hannah Nangle (Lowell, Mass.) led the way once again. Nangle posted a top-10 finish (10th) with a time of 24:14.7 that ended up being a new personal record.
- Later in the race, first-year Rebecca Hall (Richmond, Vt.) crossed the finish line in 25th place at 27:42.0, which also resulted in a career-best for Hall. Not too far behind, sophomore Mackenzie Mann (Franklin, Mass.) notched a 40th-place finish at 31:04.1.
- Lesley's two other runners, Sofia Martinez-Tomatis (Santa Barbara, Calif.) and Holly Swinamer (Franklin, Mass.), both posted personal records with their finishes today at 35:58.2 (48th) and 39:17.3 (50th), respectively.
- Johnny Maldonado (Chelsea, Mass.) led the way for the men's team again when he finished with a career-best time of 35:22.4 for 41st place.
- Rounding out the finishers for Lesley was Vibol Chiemruom (Tyngsborog, Mass.) in 58th (46:41), Jose Reyes (Boston, Mass.) in 59th (47:10), Mason Erwin (Ivoryton, Conn.) in 60th (48:56), Ray Morales (Bridgeport, Conn.) in 61st (49:00), and Charlie Ambroult (North Quincy, Mass.) in 62nd (49:01).
WINNING PERFORMANCES
- SUNY Delhi ended up winning the women's NAC cross country championship with a score of 36 points and featured four runners finishing within the top 10. Finishing up the field was UMaine Farmington (60 points), SUNY Cobleskill (62 points), Husson Univesity (89 points), Thomas College (116 points), and Lesley.
- UMaine Farmington took home first in the men's NAC cross country championship thanks to all its runners finishing within the top 10. Rounding out the rest of the men's field was Maine Maritime (60 points), SUNY Delhi (81 points), Thomas College (102 points), Husson University (134 points), SUNY Cobleskill (143 points), UMaine Presque-Isle (186 points), Vermont State-Lyndon (221 points), and Lesey.
