THE LEAD – On Saturday, October 19, both Lesley University men's and women's cross country programs competed at the Western New England Invitational.
LESLEY HIGHLIGHTS
- On the women's side, senior Hannah Nangle (Lowell, Mass.) led the squad with an impressive 21st-place finish in a field of 150 runners. Nangle crossed the finish line at 25:02 on the 6k course.
- Later in the race, Rebecca Hall (Richmond, Vt.) earned a 61st-place finish when she ended up with a time of 28:12, which resulted in a new personal best for the first year.
- Not too far behind Hall was Mackenzie Mann (Franklin, Mass.) and Darily Sanchez-Vargas with times of 31:02 (78th place) and 35:03 (85th place) respectively. Mann's time ended up being a personal record for the sophomore runner whereas Sanchez-Vargas made her cross country debut.
- For the men's squad, Johnny Maldonado (Chelsea, Mass.) led the Lynx with a career-best time of 35:45 (98th place) on the 8k course.
- In just their second-ever cross country race, Jose Reyes (Boston, Mass.), Ray Morales (Bridgeport, Conn.), Charlie Ambroult (North Quincy, Mass.), and Adam LeTorunmeau (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) finished with times of 45:32 (163rd), 47:07 (165th), 47:16 (166th), and 50:32 (169th) respectively.
