THE LEAD – On Friday, both the Lesley men's and women's cross country programs ran at the 12th Annual Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup hosted by Franklin Pierce University at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds.

LESLEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • On the women's side, the Lynx finished in 12th place with an overall score of 358 points and a team time of 2:46.10. 
  • Individually, Lesley saw two runners finish in the top 100 in a field of over 120 runners. Senior Hannah Nangle (Lowell, Mass.) led the way at 24:56.32 (41st). Her time on the 6k course marked a new 6k career best for the senior, topping her previous best of 25:23.2 set earlier this season at the Pop Crowell Invitational (Sept. 14). 
  • Lesley's other top 100 finisher was freshman Rebecca Hall (Richmond, Vt.), who crossed the line in 84th place. In her third meet of the year, Hall just narrowly missed setting a new 6k personal record with a time of 28:41.40. Her fastest was 28:19.9 during the Pop Crowell Invitational.
  • In the men's race, Lesley placed 14th with an overall score of 423 points and a team time of 3:39.34. 
  • Johnny Maldonado (Chelsea, Mass.) paced the men's squad at 36:14.35 (115th place). Maldonado's time on the 8k course marked a new personal best for the junior after he beat his previous time of 40:18.3 set at the Brown Bear Invitational earlier this year (Sept. 28, 2024).
  • Making their cross country debuts, Adam LeTorunmeau (Wesley Chapel, Fla.)Charlie Ambroult (North Quincy, Mass.)Jose Reyes (Boston, Mass.), and Ray Morales (Bridgeport, Conn.) finished with times of 38:37.47 (120th), 45:43.95 (124th), 45:50.62 (125th), and 53:07.37 (126th) respectively. 

WINNING PERFORMANCES

  • UConn took first place with a score of 28 points (1:52.14), and all five runners who competed finished within the top 15. 
  • In the men's race, Maine took home first with 36 points (2:06.12) and had all seven runners finish within the top 20.

  • Lesley finishes out the regular season with one more race on Saturday, October 19, at 11 am, running in the Western New England University Golden Bear Invitational.
