Philogene & Mendoza Finish in Top 20 of Men's Championship

MEET OVERVIEW:

WESTFIELD, MA - The Lesley Men's Cross Country team participated in the NECC Championship Races hosted by Westfield State on Saturday October 26th. The races were held at Stanley Park in Westfield.

INSIDE THE MEET:

  • As a team, the Lynx finished in fifth place. The Dean Bulldogs finished first to capture their second straight NECC Men's Cross Country championship. Dean finished with four of the top ten runners, but Eastern Nazarene and Elms College made it a close race.
  • Jalen Philogene finished first for the Lynx, coming in 15th overall with an 8K time of 32:38.5. Philogene's mile split was a great 6:34.
  • Vladimir Mendoza finished in 18th place overall, second for the Lynx just a minute and a half behind Philogene. Mendoza's time was 34:16.9 with a mile split of 6:54.
  • Ethan Merians finished third for the Lynx, with a time of 37:25. Merians came in 26th overall.
  • Ricky Elmer of Elms College took first place in the race with a time of 28:56.2. He was followed by Robert Gorman of Eastern Nazarene in second and Ross Rubin of Dean in third.

The Lynx will finish up their season with the NCAA Division III Championship at Bowdoin College on Saturday November 16th.
