Men's Cross Country Slated to Finish Fifth in NECC Poll

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University men's cross country program amassed 36 points and was slotted to finish fifth in the New England Collegiate Conference Preseason Poll, published today by Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations, Rebecca Mullen.

Southern Vermont College was picked to repeat as champions in 2016, finishing with 60 total points while Regis College followed in second with 55 points. Elms College was voted third with 45 points while Wheelock College edged the Lynx with 38 points. Newbury College and Daniel Webster College rounded out the poll with 22 points and eight points, respectively.

First year head coach Aaron Nelson will take the helm for the Lynx in 2016 while seniors Kolin Perry (Reno, Nev.) and Tyler Burns (Newton, Pa.) will pave the way on the course.

 Lesley will open their 2016 slate on Saturday, September 3rd when they travel to Roger Williams University while the NECC Championship will be held on Saturday, October 29th at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass.
