Mounties top visiting Lynx in three

BENNINGTON, VT -- Lesley dropped a 3-0 decision to Southern Vermont, falling 25-12, 25-10, 25-16 Saturday night in New England Collegiate Conference men's volleyball play.

Lynx senior Christian Domingo tied for match-high honors with eight kills, and sophomore setter Melvin Morales led the team with 10 digs and 16 assists. Junior middle hitter Max Hoevenaar added six kills and a match-best three service aces, but Southern Vermont hit .310 as a team in handing Lesley its fourth straight setback.

For the Mountaineers, Anthony Barahona and Pierre Massena tied Domingo with eight kills to lead all players, and Gabriel Franco added seven kills with only one error on 15 attempts for a match-high .400 hitting percentage. Herson Canta handed out a team-high 20 assists for Southern Vermont, which improved to  4-1 in NECC play and 5-6 on the season.

Lesley (1-8, 1-3 NECC) travels to Emerson in non-conference play Monday night at 7:00 before playing host to Endicott Wednesday night at 8:00.
