Kristen Gerety joins the Lynx as the assistant coach of men’s tennis and the head coach of women’s tennis for the 2018 season. In her first season, she led the women’s team to the North Atlantic Conference Championships, where they earned the #2 seed and were Championship finalists. The team was proud to have several players given conference honors, including Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors for doubles.

Coach Gerety was formerly the assistant men’s and women’s tennis coach at Division II Bentley University in Waltham. During her tenure at Bentley, the women’s team set a new record for the most season wins in program history and reached the semifinals of the NE-10 Championship Tournament. The men’s team was also a playoff contender, reaching the NE-10 semifinals for each of the years she helped lead the team.

Prior to Bentley, she was the head coach of the boys tennis team at Austin Prep School in Reading where her team won the Catholic Central League Championship and she was named Coach of the Year.

Coach Gerety is an instructor at the Woburn Racquet Club in Woburn, where she teaches private and group lessons. She played her collegiate tennis at Division II Merrimack College for four years and was named captain senior year.

She holds a Master of Arts in Business Communications and Public Relations from Emerson College as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Merrimack College. 

She continues to compete in singles, doubles and mixed leagues with teams through USTA as well as local leagues on the North Shore. She lives with her husband Todd and children in Melrose.
