Men's Tennis Drops Two at Curry

Milton, Mass. - The Lesley men's tennis team dropped pair of matches against Nichols College and Curry College on Saturday afternoon at the Trent J. Scott tennis courts on the campus of Curry College. The Lynx were beaten by Nichols College 8-1, while Curry College bested the Lynx 7-2. The Lynx fall to 0-3, while Nichols improve to 6-5 and Curry move to 2-7 on the season.

LESLEY HIGHLIGHTS MATCH 1:

Ryan O'Leary (Holden, MA) collected the lone point for the Lynx in the No. 6 singles match (6-1, 7-6, 110-07). Nichols started off the contest with a sweep of doubles at No. 1 (8-1), No. 2 (8-0), and No. 3 (8-0). The Bison held a 3-0 lead entering singles play.

In singles, the Bison won the top three singles in straight sets (6-0, 6-0). Meanwhile, in singles No.4 the Lynx were held 6-0, 6-3. Christian Fox (Old Saybrook, CT) came close in the No. 5 singles match with a 6-3, 6-1 loss.

LESLEY HIGHLIGHTS MATCH 2:

The duo of O'Leary/Fox took a point in No. 3 doubles with scores of 87-74. Curry capture No. 1 and No. 2 with scores of 8-2 and 8-2 respectively. The Colonels held a 2-1 lead heading into singles play.

In singles play, O'Leary grabbed another point for the Lynx with a 6-0, 4-0 (retirement) win at No. 6 singles. Curry would control the remaining matches with wins in singles No.1 (6-2, 6-0), No. 2 (6-1, 6-0), No. 3 (6-1, 6-0), No. 4 (6-0, 6-0), and No. 5 (5-3, 6-2).
