Watertown, Mass. - The Lesley men's tennis team dropped its home opener to Wentworth Institute of Technology, 8-1, on Thursday evening at the Mt. Auburn Tennis Center.

LESLEY HIGHLIGHTS:

Patrick Corcoran (West Hartford, CT) highlighted the evening by picking up the lone point with a win at No. 5 singles (6-2, 6-4).

The Leopards started the contest by taking all three doubles matches. Wentworth took the doubles No. 2 (8-1) and No. 3 (8-4) while William Sgro (North Haven, CT)/ Beowulf Urban (Blue Hills, ME) at doubles No. 1 were held in tight 8-5 loss, finishing in that order.

Meanwhile, in singles play, Wentworth captured a win at No. 6 (6-2, 6-1) to take a 4-0 lead before Corcoran captured the Lynx point at No. 5 (6-2, 6-4). The Leopards would go on to win the reminder of the matches to secure a 8-1 victory in the respective order of No. 4 (6-3, 7-5), No. 3 (6-2, 6-0), No. 2 (6-0, 6-0), and No. 1 (6-0, 6-2).

Lynx (0-1) will travel to Milton, MA for matches against Curry College and Nichols College, to be played at Curry College.
