CHESTNUT HILL, MA -- Lesley improved to 5-5 in NECC play and 5-6 overall with a 6-3 win over Newbury College in New England Collegiate Conference men's tennis action at Pine Manor Courts Saturday afternoon.
Junior Nick Mattox earned victories in top singles and No. 1 doubles play, beating Gerard Font-Raventos 6-0, 6-0, and and coupling with senior Christian Domingo to cruise past Font-Raventos and Robert Leng 8-1 in top doubles.
Lesley's Mike Kaufman and Jimmy Paulsen each were victorious in both singles and doubles, with Kaufman in No. 5 singles besting Wayne Gethers 6-4, 3-6, 10-6, and Paulsen taking a 6-0, 6-0 sixth singles win over Josh Seekins. The duo then combined to beat Seekins and Josh Morgan by the score of 8-4.
Lesley returns to the court in non-conference play against Albertus Magnus tomorrow at 1 p.m.
