Men's tennis blanked by Mariners, 9-0

NEW LONDON, CT – Lesley fell to 1-3 on the season with a 9-0 loss at Mitchell College in New England Collegiate Conference men's tennis play Thursday night.

Senior Christian Domingo and sophomore Mike Kaufman both suffered their first losses of 2012, as Domingo, who entered 3-0 in singles play, fell 6-4, 6-2 to Tyler Engleberg in third singles action. Kaufman, who entered the day 2-0 from the Nos. 5 and 6 spots, was dropped 7-6, (7-1), 6-1 by Alexander Fusco in fifth singles play.
For the Mariners, NECC Player of the Week Rocco DeVona bested Lesley's Paolo DiPietrantonio, 6-1, 6-1 and teamed with Rajan Bawa to knock off Domingo and Nick Mattox 8-2.

Lesley hosts Newbury College on Saturday at 5 p.m. in NECC play. Mitchell will host Becker College on Saturday at noon, also in league play.
