WORCESTER, Mass. - The inaugural men's tennis season continued for Lesley University with the squad dropping their match against Becker College 8-1.
The lone victory for the Lynx came in the number one singles match between Zach Rocha (New Bedford, Mass.) and Corey Sherman (Taunton, Mass.). After winning a tight first set 7-6, Rocha dropped the second one 6-3. The two players went into the deciding third set and Rocha outlasted Sherman, winning 10-8 and taking the point for Lesley.
Peter Lauer (Eugene, Ore.) played another solid match for the Lynx but lost in his singles competition. The freshman lost his first set 7-5 but dominated the second, winning 6-1. The third set belonged to his opponent as Lauer lost 10-3.
Lesley will be back in action this Sunday for their final home match against Mitchell College. The match will begin at 12 p.m. and will be held at BB&N gymnasium.
