THE LEAD – Despite jumping out to an early lead, Lesley University dropped a 3-1 decision at the hands of UMaine Farmington on Friday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men's soccer action at Bob Leib Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Lynx grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute as sophomore Osmyn Atwood (New York, N.Y.) set up junior Nick Wadleigh (Glastonbury, Conn.) for his third goal of the year. Atwood played a left footed cross to Wadleigh who headed it home to the far post for the score.
  • Lesley maintained the one-goal advantage for just 10 minutes before the hosts evened the score at 1-1 on an unassisted marker by Mohamed Adow (Auburn, Maine), his fourth of the year.
  • The score remained knotted at one into halftime, but the Beavers netted the game-winner midway through the second stanza on Adow's second goal of the match. The striker cleaned up a failed clear with a one-time rebound to put the hosts on top for good in the 67th minute.
  • Adow put the game away with his third of the day to record the hat trick in the 81st minute off a direct free kick from 23 yard out right in front of the Lesley goal.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • The hat trick for Adow is the second of his career, first of the season.
  • UMF outshot the Lynx 14-3 on the afternoon including a 7-0 edge in the second half.
  • Sophomore Jackson Leach (Farmingdale, Maine) notched the win in goal to improve to 4-2-1 on year.
