THE LEAD – Lesley University dropped a 3-1 non-conference men's soccer match up Wednesday evening to Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) at Shewcraft Field. The Lynx fall to 0-4 on the season while the victory moves the Trailblazers to 2-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game was scoreless through 37 minutes of play before Avani Richardson found the back of the net at the 37:23 marker for his first of the year and what proved to be the game-winner for the Trailblazers.
- The Lynx kept it a one-goal game heading into the break but MCLA doubled up the lead in the 58th minute to open things up at 2-0 on a score by Traizen Griffith.
- Jacob Malburg put the game out of reach with the help of a Marcos Lopez assist in the 82nd minute to cap the home-team at three
- Lynx sophomore forward Marc Kenny Derac (Waltham, Mass.) helped Lesley avoid the shutout finding the back of the net in the final minutes to cap the scoring and account for the 3-1 final in North Adams, Mass.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Trailblazers owned a 28-12 advantage in shots on the night as well as a 4-2 edge in corners.
- Ryan Taylor made four saves in net to earn the victory while Aiden Hendricks (Richmond, Va.) suffered the setback for the Lynx, making four saves.
- Lesley sophomore Miguel Vasconcelos (Sharon, Mass.) was credited with the assist on the late Lesley goal for his first point of the year.

- Lesley returns home on Saturday, September 14 for a 1:00 PM match vs. Fitchburg State at Minuteman High School in Lexington, Mass.
- MCLA also is back this weekend, heading to SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday for a 3:00 PM non-conference tilt.
