THE LEAD – After a 35-game losing stretch dating back to 2019, the Lynx snapped the streak and pulled off an impressive 6-1 win against Vermont State Lyndon this afternoon in North Atlatic Conference (NAC) action. In the conference-opener for both squads, the Lynx outshot the Hornets 55-6 (17-4) on net.  

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Lynx opened up scoring six minutes into the match with a goal from Adrian Esparragozza, assisted by Miguel Vasconcelos.
• 10 minutes later rookie Marc Kenny Derac sent one in, with another assist to Vasconcelos.
• Vasconcelos rounded out his day by adding an unassisted goal off a distance shot.
• Esparragozza opened up the second half with a penalty shot, sending the Lynx up 4-0.
• The Hornets fought back in the 78^th minute and Charles Schwenker scored off a through ball from David Gratton.
• The Lynx answered just six minutes later when Caleb Race hit the cross bar and allowed Marc Kenny Derac to send the rebound to the back of the net.
• The Lynx' last goal of the day came from Caleb Race with another unassisted distance shot.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• The Lynx put six goals on the board, something they haven't done since the 2018 season.
• The goals scored by first-years Vasconcelos, Race, and Derac were each their first collegiate goals.
