24 Lynx Named to Fall Academic All-Conference Team

CAMBRIDGE, MA. -- The Lesley Lynx had twenty-four student-athletes from their five fall teams named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference Team. The NECC champion women's soccer team had fourteen members named to the team, while the NECC runner-up men's soccer team had three. The women's volleyball team had four members honored, men's cross country had two, and women's cross country had one.

A total of 204 student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Conference Team for the 2019 Fall semester, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning.

In order to be eligible for NECC Academic All-Conference honors, a student-athlete must post a minimum grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00, and must be a sophomore or higher in class standing. Student-athletes who competed in men's and women's cross country, field hockey, men's and women's soccer and women's volleyball were eligible for the award.

The women's soccer team had the second most members honored, with New England College boasting fifteen honorees. The student-athletes named from the women's soccer team are Holly Buschelman, Kayleigh Chicas, Julia Cohn, Brittley Gaan, Remington Hasley, Claire Hounslow, Gabby Lara, Kerrie Larson, Calli Masters, Melanie Mathewson, Tayla Mayberry, Jill Narby, Hope Seasholes, and Sophie Smurthwaite. A total of 69 women's soccer players were honored, leading all fall sports teams.

The men's soccer team saw NECC Goalkeeper of the Year David Crutchfield named to the team, along with Andrew Medeiros and Tyler Gomes. Women's volleyball was represented by Amy Dai, Merceidiz Diaz, Tallin Goldberg, and Mary Shafer. Ethan Merians and Vladimir Mendoza were named for men's cross country, while NECC Women's Runner of the Year Kayla Ranere represented the women's cross country team.
