Lynx move to 5-0 in NECC with 3-0 win over DWC

SOMERVILLE, MA -- Lesley University (8-4-2) improved to 5-0-0 in New England Collegiate Conference play with a 3-0 win over Daniel Webster (3-9-2, 1-6-2 NECC)

            Lesley got on the board at 13:20, as Ari Sinanis (Guilford, CT/Guilford) dribbled right and sent a low cross into the box that deflected off Eagles keeper Sean Hamilton and was tapped in by junior Makenzie Lukas (Reno, NV/Reno). The 1-0 lead held through halftime, at which point Lesley outshot Daniel Webster 7-2 and earned five corner kicks to only one for the Eagles.

            Sinanis picked up his 10th assist just 2:50 into the second half, connecting to Ahmed Abubakar (Springfield, VA/Robert E. Lee) on his first goal of the season in doubling the lead to 2-0. Senior Jimmy Paulsen (Monroe, CT/Masuk) then added an insurance goal at 88:20 to give the Lynx a 3-0 win.

            For the Eagles, Hamilton made nine saves, while Lesley goalkeeper Nigel Leahy (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) made one save in this shutout. For the game, the Lynx outshot Daniel Webster 18-2. 

            Lesley returns to play next Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Elms.
