Early goal distances Rams in 1-0 win over Lynx

SOMERVILLE, MA -- Suffolk University's Tyler Parmalee scored in the 11th minute, which was enough to lift the Rams to a 1-0 victory over the visiting Lynx on Monday.

Parmalee beat Lesley goalkeeper Nathan Trucks following a takeaway, depositing an unassisted score from 25 yards out at 10:15, and the teams played scoreless soccer for nearly 80 minutes. Trucks made a match-high five saves in only 45 minutes of work, and freshman Trevor Martin played the final 45, saving the only Rams shot on goal in his college debut.

For the afternoon, Suffolk outshot the Lynx 17-9, including 9-3 in the second half, but only totaled a 7-5 advantage in shots on goal. Rams keeper Nicholas Chamma tied Trucks for game-best honors with five saves over 90 minutes in the shutout.

Lesley returns to play on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. at Edward Field, playing host to Emerson in the Seventh Annual Charles River Cup. Wednesday will mark the rubber match in Cup history, as the Lynx have won three straight contests to tie the series at 3-3.
