Lynx come back to win third straight, 2-1 at Regis

WESTON, MA -- Paul Vasconcelos' club overcame an early Pride goal to take a 2-1 win in a physical New England Collegiate Conference road battle against Regis College Saturday afternoon.

Ari Sinanis tied the contest at 1-1 before tallying his seventh assist on Jordan Santos' first career game-winning goal at the 54:00 mark.

A quick touch from Nicholas Tavares from 10 yards away off a long Alex Caliendo throw-in put the Pride on the board at 20:49, but Sinanis answered moments later.

The junior's fifth goal of the year from in front of the left post tied the contest at 23:18, and the teams remained tied through a physical first half that featured 11 fouls and two yellow cards.

Lesley came out aggressive to open the second half, one in which it would outshoot the Pride 9-6. Nine minutes into the frame, Sinanis'sent his team-leading seventh assist in Santos' direction, and the freshman's second goal of the season would eventually become his first game-winner.

Max Perkins made three saves for the Lynx, while the Pride's Andrew LaMacchia made four in his 90 minutes in net.

Each team received four yellow cards, with Regis' Shawn McDonough receiving a red card. Lesley tallied 12 fouls, while the Pride committed 11.

With seven, Sinanis is one behind Elms' Tim Leland, the NECC leader in assists.

Vasconcelos' club improves to 10-3-1 and 4-1-0 in NECC play. The Lynx travel to Southern Vermont on Monday with at least a share of first place in the NECC at stake.
