Early goals knock down Hawks as Lynx win, 3-0

WORCESTER, MA -- Sophomore Ari Sinanis put the first-place Lynx on the board with a score at 13:44, and Tyler Reeves added another four minutes later, knocking down the Hawks early on in Lesley's 3-0 road win in NECC play Wednesday night. 

Sinanis dribbled through the Becker defense, beating a screened Tim McDonald for his eighth of the season. Moments later, Reeves, who entered tied with Sinanis and teammate Ali Sozeri for second the the NECC in goals, added to the Lynx lead, beating McDonald from 35 yards for his eighth.

It remained a 2-0 Lynx lead through halftime, as Lesley outshot the Hawks 13-3 for the period. The physical contest that featured a total of 32 fouls and three yellow cards stayed 2-0 until Sinanis found the back of the net with 2:03 remaining, taking over sole possession of second in the NECC in goals.

For the Lynx, goalkeeper Zachary Almeida-Beers made four saves in the shutout.

With the win, Lesley improves to 13-1 and 4-0 in NECC play, while third-place Becker falls to 7-5-1 and 2-1 in the NECC.

The Lynx return to Cambridge to play host to the Mountaineers of Southern Vermont on Saturday night at 9:00 p.m.
