CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Lesley University men's soccer defeated Rivier College 1-0 on Saturday afternoon after a single goal was scored in the first half by sophomore striker Tyler Reeves (Coventry, Conn.).
Reeves and freshman Dallas Eubanks (St. Petersburg, Fla.) penetrated deep into the goalie box in the 38th minute. Eubanks was able to give a quality lead pass to Reeves who drove the ball past the Rivier keeper.
The Lynx had opportunities to score, but Rivier goalie John Jarvis (St. Albans, Vt.) kept his team in the game with several spectacular saves. Jarvis ended the day with 15 saves while giving up just the one goal.
With the lead entact, the Lesley defense thwarted any attempts by the Raiders to score with captain Scott Wheeler (East Hampton, Conn.) commanding the backfield.
Lesley will next host Johnson State College on Sunday afternoon at 3 pm while Rivier will travel to Elms College on September 9th.
