CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the second time this season, freshman Tyler Reeves (Coventry, Conn.) earned Rookie of the Week honors from the North Atlantic Conference.
The Lesley University men's soccer team went 2-1 on the week defeating Massachusetts Maritime Academy and Johnston State College, before falling to Castleton State College on Sunday afternoon. The two victories, however, were in large part due to the consistent pressure that Reeves put on the opposing defenses.
In Wednesday's game against MMA, Reeves provided all the offense the Lynx would need as Lesley won 1-0. The next game against Johnston State, Reeves showed some on the field smarts as he followed up a blocked shot from a teammate with a blast to the back of the net for his second goal of the week.
Reeves in just his first season with the Lynx, leads the team with eight goals and three assists, totaling 19 points. His success so far this season forecasts great things to come for the young striker.
With the Lynx currently in 6th place in the NAC, the team will look to Reeves to continue his leadership and success into the playoffs.
