Lynx shutout Mountaineers 9-0

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Lesley University's high powered offense was too much to handle for Southern Vermont College as the Lynx coasted to a 9-0 victory.

The Lynx scored early and often led by Sam Mead (Worthing, ENGLAND) and Joseph Petit (Salem, Mass.) who each scored two goals.  Nick Wilkins (Lincoln, Mass.), Scott Wheeler (East Hampton, Conn.), Evan Hunt (Cambridge, Mass.) and Mark Montgomery (Leeds, ENGLAND) all knotted a goal each contributing to the team's offensive surge.  Tyler Reeves (Coventry, Conn.) led the team with two assists while Mead, Montgomery, Alex Fisher (East Hampton, Conn.) and Stephen Siragusa (Valley Stream, N.Y.) each found the goal scorers for an assist apiece.

Lesley's defense was in control the entire game as they only allowed seven shots by the Mountaineers all game.  Rookie keeper Rob Kotzen (Needham, Mass.) completed his second shutout of the season making four saves.

"We had some great pressure against their defense which led to a lot of shots.  Luckily for us, many of those shots went to the back of the net," said Head Coach Paul Vasconcelos.  "We have some difficult matches coming up, but I feel like our team is ready for the next challenge."
