CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lynx got their first win of the year as they beat Fisher College 11-0, improving to 1-0-1.
Tyler Reeves (Coventry, Conn.) led the Lynx
attack as he scored three goals for Lesley, including his first as
a collegiate player. Reeves also added an assist to finish
the game with seven points, the team lead. Joining Reeves as
one of the stars of the game was Joseph Petit (Salem,
Mass.) who scored the first two goals of the game, which
included the game winner. Mark Montgomery (Leeds,
ENGLAND), Alejandro Lazo (Boston, Mass.),
Nick Wilkins (Lincoln, Mass.), Sam Mead
(Worthing, ENGLAND) and Philip Lund
(Mililani, Hawaii) also scored for the Lynx.
Evan Hunt (Cambrdige, Mass.) had a team high two
assists in the win.
The defense led by Scott Wheeler (East Hampton,
Conn.) only allowed three shots on net as rookie keeper
Rob Kotzen (Needham, Mass.) posted his first
career shutout.
"It was one of those games where once we put in the first goal the
scoring seemed to come with ease," said Head Coach Paul
Vasconcelos. "I think it was important to see the offense
working as a cohesive unit and starting to really share the ball
and learn how to finish."
The Lynx will travel to Emmanuel College on Tuesday, September 11th for an 8:00 pm start. For more information on the Lesley men's soccer team please go to their website.
