Men's Golf Finishes Seventh In Inaugural NAC Championship

THE LEAD – The Lesley University men's golf team concluded its first-ever North Atlantic Conference Championship Monday with a seventh-place finish at 708 (+79). Husson University won the tournament with an overall score of 596 (+28). Rounding out the rest of the field was SUNY Delhi, in second at 608 (+27), followed by Maine Maritime Academy at 652 (+84), then SUNY Cobleskill at 673 (+105), UMaine-Farmington at 685 (+117), Thomas College at 693 (+125), and after Lesley was UMaine Presqu-Isle at 754 (+186).

LESLEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • On day two of the tournament, Hunter Treanor (Bulverde, Tex.) led the way for the Lynx when he carded a 77 (+6) on day two and a 165 (+23) overall . Treanor made the biggest leap of the day as the first-year jumped eight spots to finish in a tie for 16th. Highlighting his strong day on the course was his 36 (+1) on the back nine, which was just one over par. 
  • The Lynx also had another golfer finish within the top 25, which was fellow first-year and former NAC Rookie of the Week, Jeremy Ouellette (Old Saybrook, Conn.). Ouellette posted an 87 (+16) on day two for 23rd place. For the tournament as a whole, Ouellette finished with a score of 173 (+31).
  • Christian McElroy (Toms River, N.J.) and Patrick Teasdale (Stamford, Conn.) both maintained their spots within the top 35, finishing in 31st (87 (+16)), and 34th (94 (+23)) respectively. McElroy's final score on the tournament was a 181 (+39) and Teasdale's was 189 (+47). 
  • Rounding the golfers on the day for Lesley was Mason Erwin (Ivoryton, Conn.) who carded a 106 (+35) on the day and finished the tournament with a 213 (+71).
