THE LEAD – The Lesley University men's golf program travelled to Groton, Connecticut on Wednesday afternoon to compete in the Mitchell Invitational III event hosted by Mitchell College at Shennecossett Golf Course.
LESLEY HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Patrick Teasdale (Stamford, Conn.) carded the low LU round with a +14 on the card for an 85 which included a 38 on the back nine. Teasdale may have also had the shot of the tourney, holing out an approach shot from 155 yards out during the round.
- Sophomore Scott Scherrer (Skaneateles, N.Y.) improved his score from the duel meet earlier this season at Shennecossett by 10 strokes, carding an 86 (+15) for a solid showing.
- First year players Hunter Treanor (Bulverde, Tex.) and Jeremy Ouellette (Old Saybrook, Conn.) both carded rounds of 91, both shooting a 47 on the front and 44 on the back.
- Senior Christian McElroy (Toms River, N.J.) rounded out the group with a 94.
WINNING PERFORMANCE
- Mitchell College's Shamus McLean finished the round with medalist honors for the hosts Mariners, registering a +4 round of 75 at his home course.
- Wentworth Institute of Technology best the field with a team score of 316 followed by Mitchell at 331 in second and Albertus Magnus in third with a team score of 340.
