THE LEAD – Lesley University hit the links on Wednesday morning in the tournament field at the Brett Williamson Invitational hosted by Westfield State University at Tekoa Country Club.

LESLEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • First year Hunter Treanor (Bulverde, Tex.) posted a collegiate low of 87 for the low score by a Lynx golfer, finishing tied for 30th in the field.
  • Senior Christian McElroy (Toms River, N.J.) also posted a collegiate low with an 89, good for a share of 33rd while classmate Patrick Teasdale (Stamford, Conn.) was next in the clubhouse with a 94.
  • Coming off a career-low, sophomore Scott Scherrer (Skaneateles, N.Y.) finished the day with a 99 while second-year Ryan McClintock (Melrose, Mass.) made his collegiate debut with a 50th place finish and 117 score on the card.

WINNING PERFORMANCE

  • Mitchell College's Shamus McLean birdied the first playoff hole to win the 2024 Brett Williamson Invitational golf tournament with a 74. He earned co-medalist honors with New England College's Graham Hassan before the one-hole playoff decided the individual title.
  • It was Hassan's Pilgrims who bested the team field with a score of 307 followed by Worcester State at 316 with MCLA rounding up the top three with a 325 team score.

UP NEXT

  • Lesley is back in action next Wednesday, October 2 for a second go-round at Shennecossett Golf Course at the Mitchell Invite III. The Lynx posted a season-low team score of 342 earlier this month in a dual match vs. the Mariners at Shennecossett.
