Early Struggles Sink Lynx against Cadets

GAME OVERVIEW:

MEDFORD, MA. -- The Lesley men's basketball team fell to the Norwich Cadets by a score of 78-67 on Wednesday night. The Lynx fall to 0-19 on the season, while the Cadets advance to 5-15 overall.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Lynx had a tough shooting night, especially in the first half. Lesley shot 43.3% overall in the game, while Norwich shot 57.1%. A nine minute scoring drought in the first half and a 24-7 Cadets run to end the half put the game out of reach.
  • Donovan Lewis Jr. accounted for half of the Cadets' offensive on the night. Lewis Jr. shot 17 for 18 from the field for 38 points and also added seven rebounds and four assists.
  • Chase Howard led the Lynx with 28 points, 20 of them coming in the second half. Howard shot 11 for 18 from the field, including 2 of 3 from three, and 4 for 6 from the free throw line, while adding three rebounds and three assists.
  • Treyvon Trent added thirteen points for the Lynx, but the rest of the team outside of Trent and Howard combined for only 26 points. The Lynx did score 41 in the second half, but could not close the gap without fouling to stop the clock and giving the Cadets late free throw attempts.
