ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Lesley University baseball team placed five student-athletes on the New England Collegiate Conference All-Conference Teams, announced today by NECC Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Rebecca Mullen.

Freshman Jacob Cervantes (Oxnard, Calif.) and junior J.P. Agiorgousis (Hanscom, Mass.) were each voted to the First Team while fellow junior Mike Slaby (Foxboro, Mass.) was named to the Second Team. Freshman Ryan Pumphret (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was placed on the Third Team and senior Gustavo Polidor (Caracas, Venezuela) was named to the inaugural All-Sportsmanship Team.

Cervantes was a dominant force behind the dish for the Lynx, gunning down 52.6% of potential base stealers in conference play. The freshman also turned in a fantastic season at the dish, hitting .345 with nine RBI and 12 runs scored in 17 conference games. Agiorgousis earned First Team honors in his first season with the Lynx, hitting .395 with four doubles, ten runs scored, and six RBI in 14 NECC matchups. The junior also displayed excellent defense, not committing a single error and showing off great range in right field.

Slaby set career-highs in nearly every statistical category, earning All-Conference honors for the first time in his career. The junior compiled a .370 batting average with four RBI, seven runs scored, nine walks, and two steals while starting in all 18 NECC battles. Slaby was excellent at the hot corner, committing just four errors and settling a .931 fielding percentage.

Pumphret, a two-time NECC Rookie of the Week recipient, crushed conference pitching as he finished second in the league with a .412 average. The rookie scored five times and knocked in 13 – fourth most in the conference – while slugging one home run and two doubles.

Polidor earned All-Sportsmanship honors and finished the season with a .309 average to go along with nine runs scored and four RBI in all 18 NECC games.
