Muratore Claims NECC Pitcher of the Week Award

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Lesley University sophomore Tom Muratore (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 3, 2016. NECC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Rebecca Mullin made the announcement today in the conference Weekly Report.

Muratore made history this weekend as he became the Lesley baseball program's all-time leader in wins, notching the eighth of his career on Saturday. The righty carried the Lynx to a victory in game one of an NECC doubleheader against Daniel Webster College to bring his career record to 8-5 with an outstanding 2.71 ERA. The previous win record of seven was held by lefty Ryan Genua '14, who pitched for the Lynx in their inaugural season in 2011 through 2014.

After being named NECC Rookie of the Week twice in 2015, this marks Muratore's first Pitcher of the Week honor of his career.
