ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Lesley University freshman Tom Muratore (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) has been named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week this week following a two-hit shutout in a win over Newbury College. NECC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations, Roger Crosley, made the announcement today in the conference Weekly Report.

Muratore performance was just the second complete-game shutout recorded in program history while his two hits allowed tied the record for least hits allowed in a game.

Muratore moved to 2-0 on the season after hurling a complete game, two-hit shutout against Newbury on Saturday. The rookie worked ahead in the count all game as he walked just one and struck out six. Muratore also had a double in his only official at bat of the week and scored a run.
