NASHUA, N.H. – Lynx head baseball coach Mike Rocco will serve as the hitting coach for the Nashua Silver Knights of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL). The FCBL is regarded as one of the top college baseball leagues in the country after its inaugural season in 2011. The nine-team league features collegiate players from the Division I, II, and III ranks from all over the country.
"I'm extremely excited for this opportunity to be coaching in such a well respected summer league," said Rocco. "I am going to be working with a great staff and in a great baseball city. I am looking forward to the season starting and working with the players and staff."
Lynx junior rightfielder Tyler Plourd (Canton, Conn.) signed with the Martha's Vineyard Sharks earlier this year and the two teams will open play this Friday, June 7th at Holman Stadium in Nashua.
The Silver Nights finished the 2012 campaign atop the regular season standings with a record of 39-13 and went on to win their second consecutive FCBL Championship.
