Cohen Tabbed as NECC Pitcher of the Week

For the second time this season, sophomore Ray Cohen (Coventry, Conn.) has been named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Pitcher of the Week. NECC Assistant Commissioner for Communications, Robb Modica, made the announcement this morning in the conference weekly report.

Cohen twirled a gem and led the Lynx to their first ever win over Daniel Webster College this past Friday at Conaty Park at Bryant University. From the Release:

BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Ray Cohen, Lesley

(So, P/OF - Coventry, Conn.)

Cohen went the distance, leading the Lynx to their first win over Daniel Webster in program history. Cohen held the Eagles scoreless over the first five innings, yielding just a single run in the sixth in the 6-1 victory. He limited the DWC bats to just seven singles, striking out five, while walking only one batter.

This is the second time Cohen has received the award this season. The first came after a win over Colby-Sawyer where he limited the Chargers to just one run while striking out six. On the season, the sophomore has only given up two runs in 14 innings of work while striking out eleven, compiling a 1.29 ERA.
