"Fralick stars at Lesley" in Boston Globe
CAMBRIDGE, MA – After an incomparable mixture of success in the classroom, in the community and on her fields of play, Lesley University 2012 alumna Jenna Fralick has firmly cemented a legacy worth celebrating, and for that she will be justly recognized.
The Lynx soccer and softball All-New England performer has been named New England Collegiate Conference Female Athlete of the Year, the league announced today.
The award is given to the league’s most accomplished graduating senior based on athletic, academic, community and leadership accomplishments. In her four years at Lesley, Jenna Fralick was an 11-time letter winner, amazingly leading all 11 teams she played on to the league championship game. Of the 11 NECC championship games she played in, she led her team to victory in seven of them, winning a Soccer Rookie of the Year, Softball Player of the Year and making a combined four All-NECC First Teams (three soccer, one softball) in the process.

"What a wonderful way to cap off a tremendous college career,” said head women’s soccer coach Paul Vasconcelos. “We couldn't be happier for Jenna and her family. Jenna will be greatly missed here at Lesley and we no doubt have a big hole to fill on the field."
Director of athletics and head softball coach Jen Benway agreed.
"Jenna is a phenomenal athlete, but she's a great, well-rounded young woman," said Benway. "She's made her mark on the soccer and softball fields, but she's been a great addition to the community, as well. She's certainly going to be hard to replace with her athleticism, but she's also a really good person."
Fralick experienced unparalleled team and individual success as a senior. On the pitch, she led Lesley’s women’s soccer team to a regular season title and 9-0 finish in-league, being named All-NECC First Team, National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-New England and was selected to the New England Intercollegiate Soccer Coaches Association (NEISCA) Senior Bowl. On the diamond, the third base player was a first team all-conference selection, team MVP and National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-New England Second Team after leading the Lynx to a fifth consecutive conference championship and second straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
In addition to taking on leadership roles within her championship teams and in Lesley's student-athlete community, the Woburn, MA native has been extremely active within the Greater Boston Area and beyond since her arrival on campus. She has helped instruct soccer camps and clinics in Charlestown and Dorchester, has volunteered at Cambridge's Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House and helped organize her softball team's winter coat drive each of the last four Decembers. A softball and soccer co-captain and three-time softball Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative, Jenna assisted in SAAC's 2010 Hurricane Katrina rebuilding efforts, driving to New Orleans in helping restore the city's public parks.
In the classroom, she was a dean’s list student and creative writing major with minors in education and psychology prior to graduating cum laude.
Fralick is Lesley’s second straight NECC Female Athlete of the Year, as former soccer and softball teammate Alyson Durben won the award in 2011.
