WOMEN'S SOCCER

PLAYER OF THE WEEK -Lesley University senior forward Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) tallied a hat-trick along with an assist in an 8-0 romp of Mass. Maritime this past week. Fralick totaled seven points for the lone contest and has 14 points thus far this season.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Becker College freshman forward Caroline Plunkett (Rockaway, N.Y.) led the Hawks to a 2-0 week, shutting down Mass. Maritime7-0 and Lyndon Stats 2-0. Plunkett scored three goals and one assist for the week notching goals in both contests for seven points.

MEN'S SOCCER

PLAYER AND ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Southern Vermont freshman forward Adrien Alexis (Maplewood, N.J.) was the key factor in the Mountaineers 2-0 week winning the Raptor Classic Tournament. Alexis scored one goal in a 2-0 shut-out of Polytechnic, while single handedly hammering home his first collegiate hat-trick in a 3-2 victory over Bard. For his efforts Alexis was named Raptor Classic Tournament MVP tallying eight points for the week.

FIELD HOCKEY

PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Daniel Webster College sophomore midfielder Natalie Bates (North Kingston, R.I.) notched six points for the week. Bates helped the Eagles to a 2-0 week defeating Rivier 2-1 and NECC opponent Bay Path 4-1. Bates scored first in both contests along with nabbing the game winner against the Wildcats.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK -Fellow Daniel Webster College Eagle freshman forward Kyla Palaschak (East Bridgewater, Mass.) also managed to score six points on the 2-0 week. Palaschak notched the other goal in the 2-1 win over Rivier and scored the final two goals in the 4-1 win against NECC opponent Bay Path.

VOLLEYBALL

PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Mitchell College senior Heather-Renae Powers (Niantic, Conn.) led her team to a 1-0 opening week. Mitchell defeated Albertus Magnus 3-1. Powers swung her way to a weekly .357 hitting percentage. She tallied 17 kills (4.25 per set), seven digs (1.71 digs per set) and three service aces (0.75 per set) for the week.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Fellow Mitchell College Mariner freshman outside hitter Shayna Diggs (Gales Ferry, Conn.) helped the Mariners to a season opener victory. Diggs had seven kills (1.75 kills per set), two digs (0.50 digs per set), two service aces (0.50 aces per set) and a .167 hitting percentage.

WOMEN'S TENNIS

PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Bay Path College senior Cristina Ruiz (Waterbury, Conn.) was undefeated on the week winning at both #2 singles and #2 doubles. Ruiz notched a 1-6, 6-3 (10-6) tie-break win against St. Joseph's (Conn.) Alicia Lienhop in singles action and an 8-6 victory teaming with Sarah Costa in doubles action.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Fellow Bay Path College Wildcat freshman Shaneela Shaheen (Wallingford, Conn.) opened up her collegiate career with an 8-4 doubles victory. Shaheen teamed with Kara Fox taking down St. Joseph's (Conn.) tandem of Kameshia Cooper and Sylvia Perez-Argueta in # three doubles action.

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

RUNNER AND ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Southern Vermont College freshman Maggie Kuntz (South Hadley, Mass.) finished 26th out of 115 harriers at the 5K SUNY Cobleskill Invitational. Her 5K time of 21:11 was one of the top ten best finishes in the Mountaineers All-Time Record Book. The Mountaineers finished in 12th place as a team with 328 points.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

RUNNER OF THE WEEK - For the second straight week, Lesley University senior Fran Cusick (Lexington, Mass.) was awarded the NECC Runner of the Week honors.  Cusick crossed the line in fifth place with a 5K time of 17:25. The Lynx took sixth place out of eighth place at the Roger Williams Invitational.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Newbury College freshman Gabriel Nunez (Jersey City, N.J.) garners NECC rookie honors. He clocked a 30:23 time over an 8K course at the Annual LT Travis J Fuller Invitational to a 16th place finish. The Nighthawks placed 7th with a 201 team score.

GOLF

GOLFER OF THE WEEK - Babson College senior Fernando Pineres (Cartagena, Colombia) shot +2 over par for a third place score of 146  (73-73) at the Trinity Invitational.  Pineres led his team to a first place finish out of seven teams with a team score of 304-296=600 (+24 over par).

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Daniel Webster College freshman Kevin Krupinski (Woodstock, Conn.) took home the medalists honor for the top score of a one round tournament. Krupinski shot an 86 in the dual meet against Becker, leading the Eagles to win with a 359 team score.
