Lynx Come From Behind for 3-2 Victory Over Nighthawks

GAME OVERVIEW:

Brookline, Mass.- The Lesley Women's Volleyball team took Newbury College to 5 sets to earn their first NECC Confernece match of the 2018 campaign.  With the win, Lesley improves 4-12 overall and 1-4 in NECC play.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • Newbury claimed the first two sets of the match 25-17 adn 25-20, but the Lynx rallied to earn the next three set wins 25-13, 25-21, and 15-13 for the come from behind conference win.
  • First year Maile Counts paced the offense with a match high 22 kills and also chipped in 15 digs.  Cassidy Wygonik was next on the Lynx offensive attack with 16 kills and a team best 25 digs.
  • Tallin Goldberg took control of the offense with a season high 40 assists in the win, while Jillian Russo and Ashley Keeney helped keep the Nighthawks from scorng with 15 digs a piece.
  • Stephanie Rheaume led the offense for Newbury with 11 kills, while three other Nighthawks chipped in 6. Amanda Payne led the defense with a match high 28 digs in the loss.

Lelsey next travels to Trinity college on Saturday October 13th for a tri-match against Trinity and Hamilton beginning at 1pm.
