SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Lesley University women's tennis team notched their first win of 2015, earning a 5-4 decision over New England Collegiate Conference foe Bay Path University today at Forest Park in Springfield, Mass.

The Lynx won two out of three doubles matches before taking three of the six singles matches to earn the win. The victory marks the first under Lesley first year head coach Shawna Sarson.

Lesley sophomores Caroline Kiddie (Scituate, Mass.) and Theresa Pereira (Hopedale, Mass.) teamed up to win 8-6 over Brittany Walsh and Taylor Wood in a tough top doubles match before Lynx junior Frances De Leon (Murrieta, Calif.) and senior Rose Heller (State College, Pa.) topped Katie Lebowitz and Katrina Mannion 8-4 in No. 2 doubles.

Bay Path avoided a doubles sweep when Yismel Rosario and Kimberly Drahushuk earned an 8-0 victory over Hannah Levensailer (Ayer, Mass.) and Diana Watson.

Kiddie delivered her second win of the afternoon as she cruised past Walsh in straight sets 6-0, 6-1 in the top singles flight. Wood provided the Wildcats a 6-2, 6-1 win over De Leon in second singles before Pereira put the Lynx within one win for the match with 6-2, 7-6 triumph over Rosario.

The hosts evened the match as Lebowtiz and Edna Aboagye posted wins in fourth and fifth singles, respectively, before Watson outlasted Mannion 6-4, 7-5 in the sixth and final singles match of the day to clinch the victory for the Lynx.

Lesley will return to the courts on Monday when they head to Mt. Ida College for a non-conference bout with the Mustangs at 3:00p.
